Penn Quarter's Michelin-Starred Italian Table

Founded in 2011 by Chef Fabio Trabocchi, Fiola has stood at the heart of Washington, D.C.'s Penn Quarter as the city's most celebrated Italian restaurant. Trabocchi — a Le Marche native, James Beard Award winner, and protégé of legendary Gualtiero Marchesi — brought his life's work home to D.C. after earning Michelin stars in New York and accolades across two continents.

At Fiola, that journey continues under Executive Chef Antonio Mermolia, whose soulful Italian tasting menus move through the seasons and honor the country's rich regional traditions. Each menu is thematically focused: the Pascoli celebrates traditional meat dishes, the Marino highlights exceptional fish, and the Verdi puts vegetables at the center of the plate. For the full expression of the kitchen, the nine-course Brumidi tasting menu is available, alongside a four-course option and à la carte selections — all built around the finest local and imported ingredients.

The accolades speak for themselves: a Michelin star held since 2017, the Wine Spectator Grand Award, three stars from the Washington Post , and a ranking of #7 Best Italian Restaurant in the World by 50 Top Italy.

This is Italian dining as it was meant to be — soulful, precise, and unforgettable.
